Michael Lamarre has over 18 years of experience developing and implementing security protocols during opening phases and operations in some of New York City’s most notable luxury boutique hotels. Throughout his career, he ensured building code compliance, cleared building violations, and trained teams on fire safety while overseeing all day-to-day operations of the Security teams that he built for these properties.

Michael entered the hotel industry in 2006, bringing his Security background to The Maritime, a BD Hotel Group property. As BD expanded, Michael was enlisted as the Director of Security in the launch of their new property, The Bowery Hotel, and consulted on their next project, The Jane Hotel. Michael was integral in obtaining fire plan approvals and training hotel staff to obtain FSD licenses. In 2012, Michael joined Sydell Group where he continued his work of clearing building violations, obtaining permitting and code compliance from the Departments of Buildings, Health, Fire and Transportation. Eventually, he was promoted to Area Director of Security & Safety for NoMad NY and Freehand NY. Later, Freehand NY was acquired by Generator Hotels leading to Michael’s transition to Director of Building Compliance & Safety.

Today, Michael utilizes his wealth of knowledge and experience in hotel operations and working with city departments to consult on the development of various projects, from hotel openings to reshaping existing operations and beyond.
